The Office of Corporate Engagement and Foundation Relations (CEFR) serves as a centralized hub at Brown for collaborations with industry and foundations. We work with Brown faculty and staff from across the University to drive strategic opportunities in support of research and other academic initiatives.

Our team is specially trained to help you identify the best grant opportunities for your research, craft the strongest letters of inquiry and proposals, and coordinate efficiently with University leadership, Division of Research, and cross-departmental collaborators. We offer a suite of services to help guide faculty and staff through the funding process.

How We Partner With Brown Faculty

  • Manage the University’s relationships with key institutional funders and partners.
  • Maintain institutional knowledge of academic strengths and priorities, as well as external philanthropic trends.
  • Identify funding opportunities and develop faculty resources.
  • Collaborate on proposal strategy, development, and submission.
  • Facilitate the University’s internal review process.
  • Provide support for presentations, interviews, and site visits.
  • Draft institutional giving agreements, acknowledgment letters, and invoices.
  • Coordinate timely and impactful grant reporting.
