For Faculty

The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) serves as a centralized resource for institutional giving. We work with Brown faculty from across the University in securing grants and other types of support from corporations and foundations.

Our team is specially trained to help you identify the best grant opportunities for your research, craft the strongest letters of inquiry and proposals, and coordinate efficiently with University leadership, Office of the Vice President for Research, and cross-departmental collaborators. We offer a suite of services to help guide faculty and staff through the funding process.

What We Do

  • Manage the University’s relationships with key institutional funders
  • Maintain institutional knowledge of research funding priorities and external philanthropic trends
  • Identify funding opportunities and develop faculty resources
  • Collaborate on proposal strategy, development, and submission
  • Facilitate the University’s internal review process
  • Support for presentations and interviews with funders
  • Draft institutional giving agreements, acknowledgment letters, and invoices
  • Coordinate timely and impactful grant reporting
  • Coordinate site visits and meetings
